Plastic Mulch Films

Intergro has been a leader in mulch film since 1971—longer than any company in the eastern United States. We pioneered many of the films used today and continue to offer the industry’s most complete product line, including LDPE cast and blown films, VIF and TIF high-barrier films, metalized, perforated, and degradable options.

Plastic mulch film is essential in vegetable, berry, and hemp production. It suppresses weeds, regulates soil temperature, protects nutrients, improves fumigation effectiveness, and keeps crops off the soil. By adjusting color, thickness, and barrier properties, growers can tailor performance to their needs. Intergro offers blown and cast films in all colors and specifications, including organic and biodegradable options.

Mulch Film Colors

  • Black: Most common; warms soil and suppresses weeds.

  • Clear: Used for solarization; heats soil to kill weed seeds and bacteria.

  • White: Reflects light to keep beds cooler; best for very hot climates.

  • White/Black: Combines cooling with weed suppression.

  • IRT: Filters light to heat soil while limiting weed growth.

  • Other Colors: Often costly with inconsistent field benefits.

Vapor Shield

Recently Intergro introduced our newest plastic mulch film product Vapor Shield. Vapor Shield is our new line of metalized plastic mulch film. Building upon our 10 year history with metallization, we developed a superior metalized plastic mulch film. With over 50,000 rolls currently in use, the mulch film has proven to have superior adhesion qualities, excellent strength characteristics and industry leading reflectivity or gloss. The plastic mulch film is available with metal over a white or black base poly ethylene and metal coverage can be complete or with a non-metalized 8” stripe down the center.
